St Peter Lutheran Church of Red Cross

Welcome to Red Cross! We are a small Lutheran congregation in the Line Mountain area, which is east of the Susquehanna in Central Pennsylvania. Our roots run deep, having been founded in 1774, yet we are always open to visitors and new members coming to fellowship with us. As part of the Lutheran Congregations in Mission for Christ (LCMC) we are interested in missions both locally and internationally. You are welcome to join us as we worship and study God's Word together each week.

Sunday Service schedule:

Worship at 9:00 am

Bible Study at 10:30 am

On Sunday, November 3, the People of Saint Peter’s Lutheran Church in Red Cross, PA unanimously elected The Rev. Terry Kent Wimmer to a fulltime Call as their new Pastor.

Pastor Wimmer is a graduate of Peirce College in Philadelphia (Associate in Arts degree), Penn State University (Bachelor of Social Science degree in Public Policy), the University of Arkansas (Master of Arts degree in Political Science) where he was awarded a Fulbright Congressional Fellowship and worked in the US Congress and Shapp Administration. He was awarded a Master of Divinity degree from the Lutheran Theological Seminary in Philadelphia in 1988 where he also served a pastoral care residency in the Trauma Center at the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia.

Prior to serving at St. Peter’s, Pastor Wimmer served Lutheran congregations in NJ and Eastern and Central PA. He has also served as an Adjunct Senior Professor at colleges in eastern PA teaching Religion, Philosophy, Ethics, and Political Science courses.
